The Partnership has developed and invested $100,000 in SparkStart Digital, in partnership with Fasttrack Into IT (FIT). The digital skills program will support 350 participants for three years and is directed towards unemployed marginalized young people in Belfast, in support of the Work of United States Special Envoy to Northern Ireland for Economic Affairs, Joseph P. Kennedy III.

It was a homecoming of sorts for the U.S. Ambassador who spent a celebratory morning in Moville, Co. Donegal on Tuesday, alongside Principal Liam McDermott at Scoil Eoghain National School. The Ambassador was delighted to meet with 240 pupils and the teaching staff, as part of a presentation by U.S.-based charity the Irish American Partnership.
The Partnership granted a $10,000 gift to local national school Scoil Eoghain in Moville, in honor of Ambassador Cronin’s forebears who hailed from the Inishowen Peninsula.
The Irish American Partnership has presented its 2024 New York Business Leadership award to Paul Geaney, President & Chief Commercial Officer at Avolon. The award was celebrated at a breakfast reception at the historic Union League Club of New York attended by over 300 business leaders, friends, and supporters.
Previous honorees include Adrian Jones, Chairman and Co-Head, Global Private Equity, Goldman Sachs; Stan McCarthy, former Chief Executive, Kerry Group; Michael Dowling, President and Chief Executive at Norwell Health; and Bernie Brennan, President of the Royal Dublin Society.
The Partnership announces the election of Jim Kelliher to its Board of Directors. Chief Executive Mary Sugrue said, “I have the privilege to welcome Jim Kelliher, who has been newly elected to our expanding Board of Directors. As a four-time CFO and financial executive, his global business acumen, vision, and unwavering commitment to Ireland are all tremendous assets to our organization."
Today the Board and staff of the Irish American Partnership join the international community in mourning the loss of Chuck Feeney. Irish American businessman and philanthropist who gave all, and inspired so many to do the same. Chuck Feeney’s philanthropic organization, The Atlantic Philanthropies, made grants totaling more than $8 billion, much of it anonymously, to causes on five continents.

The Partnership is pleased to announce internationally renowned champion golfer, Pádraig Harrington, as its Patron at a reception today at US Ambassador to Ireland, Claire D. Cronin’s residence in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. To mark Harrington’s patronage, the Partnership, in collaboration with the Department of Education, will launch the Outdoor Play & Learning program providing $250,000 funding for primary schools to purchase resources that enhance outdoor play and learning. Outdoor Play & Learning has been developed in response to the great need identified by principals and teachers to encourage young people to get outside particularly in the wake of virtual learning necessitated by COVID-19.
